Scotland has some of the most flexible marriage laws in the world. You can get married outdoors, almost anywhere, as long as you have a registered celebrant and two witnesses.

What You Need

Two witnesses (over 16)

A registered celebrant (religious or humanist)

Marriage notices (M10 forms)

Valid ID and documents

Timeline

You must submit your M10 forms at least 29 days before your ceremony. Once approved, you’ll receive your marriage schedule, which your celebrant will sign on the day.
